  • Unlike quartz, which is an engineered stone, due to the nature of natural Stones (Granite, Marble, Quartzite, Soapstone), every single slab and batch is unique. This means that even though materials with the same name share similar characteristics, every slab has their own unique patterns, fissures, veins, colors etc. We believe that it is important for customers to see their selected slab in person so that they can look at all of these unique characteristics so that there are no surprises during or after install.

  • We would love to work with you! Please give the office a call or email us with your information so that we can get acquainted and offer you the best service.

  • Engineered Quartz and Natural Stone are both beautiful in their own ways:

Quartz, in its natural state, is found in large crystals or small, sand-like grains. Once mined, the stone is mixed with resin and other man-made binding materials which allows for a cleaner cut and more scratch and stain resistance. Quartz is one of the most popular materials for counters and backsplashes, due to its durability and non-porous surface. Quartz is a great choice for those that are wanting virtually a maintenance-free work surface. However, due to the resin that is found in the slabs, Quartz is not UV or heat resistant.

Natural Stone, as the name suggests, comes straight from the earth. Every piece of natural stone is truly unique and unlike any other! Natural stone, such as marble or granite, shows off distinctive and raw patterns that can’t be replicated. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind unique and eye-catching piece of stone, then natural stone is the choice for you. Natural Stone will require some more maintenance and we do recommend sealing your countertops every 6-12 months depending on the wear and tear.

If you’re still unsure about which one is the better choice for you, come into our showroom and chat with one of our sales consultants at Pacific Island Stone Market! We will find the stone that is right for you.
